Life has been unfair to me for the past few weeks.

I was wronged.

I was used.

I was judged.

But looking back, it has always been like that –

not only for me,

but for everyone else, too.

So I might as well just focus on the good things

and forget about all the bullshit.

Life’s too short to be spent angry and bitter anyway.

Life’s still good.

Simple joys

  • lots of alone time
  • a bit of walking around
  • a cup of brewed coffee
  • a dose of familiar tunes
  • watching a movie with a happy ending
  • singing at the top of your lungs (and recalling all the lyrics!)
  • watching the rain through a glass window
  • doing favors for people without them asking
  • knowing there are lots of people who really care for you

Life’s not too bad after all.

Love hard when there is love to be had.

“He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect for more than he can give. Don’t analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he’s not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don’t exist, but there’s always one guy that is perfect for you.”

~ Bob Marley

She was beautiful.

“She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul. She is beautiful.”

~ F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Beautiful And The Damned
